The beach Banje in the season is very crowded, so if you are looking for peace, the best thing to do is to go early in the morning or choose a quiet bay.

Copacabana beach

Copacabana beach is the largest beach in Dubrovnik, located in Babin Kuk, a part of Dubrovnik in which you will find the largest number of hotels in Dubrovnik. This beach offers a breathtaking view of the Elaphite islands and Dubrovnik bridge. The beach is sandy and very popular, especially for families with small children because of the shallow sea. This is one of the few beaches that has a special section fully equipped for the disabled. On the beach you can rent chairs and umbrellas, and there are a variety of attractions such as water skiing, parachute flight with the help of boats, pedal boats, banana boats… On the beach there is a slide for children and a diving center, and after a hard day refreshments can be found in the coffee bar or restaurant.

St. Jacob beach

Sandy-pebble beach St. Jacob is located in a secluded cove below the cliffs and the Church of St. Jacob. The beach offers a beautiful view of the city walls and Lokrum Island. Given that many stairs lead to the beach, it is not suitable for elderly people and families with children. At St. Jacob beach you can rent chairs and umbrellas and there is also a possibility to rent kayaks and jet-skis. There is a cafe at the beach which offers a variety of refreshing drinks. The beach can be reached by going from the old town to the Hotel Argentina and right behind the Church of St. Jacob there are stairs that lead directly to the beach.

Buza beach

This is an unusual beach which is hidden on the south side of town walls and the beach is reached through a small door in the wall of St. Stephen. The beach is reached through the narrow streets behind the cathedral leading to the top of the walls, and when you pass through the door of St. Stephen, you see only the rocks, a small bar and the stairs that lead down to the sea. This beach is definitely one of the most romantic places in Dubrovnik and we strongly recommend you to visit it.

Island Lokrum

Island Lokrum beaches

The small island of Lokrum is only 0.5 nautical miles southeast of Dubrovnik. Lokrum is a beautiful island of the unique nature and clear sea. It is a nature park with a unique botanical garden in which many exotic plants grow. The beaches are rocky and surrounded by lush vegetation, so they are an ideal choice for those who do not like large crowds and want privacy. Lokrum can be reached by your own boat or organized transport from the port of Dubrovnik, which is very common especially in the season.

Dance beach

Dance beach resort is located at the foot of the church of St. Mary and under the park Gradac. It is a rocky beach that is very popular among the local population. The sea is clean and stretches to the open sea and the sea is always a little cooler than at the rest of Dubrovnik beaches. This beach is not recommended for inexperienced swimmers because it is a little more difficult to access the sea. You can sunbathe at the rocky panels and there is a bar at the beach to freshen up during extreme heats. Dance beach is 200 meters away from the Old Town, or from the exit Pile, then you turn onto Dante Alghieri street, come to the park Gradac froom which you descend by the mentioned monastery and church, and you’re there.
