Milna on island Brac
This summer we have visited Milna. Which is a very nice place at the Island Brac. Milna is known like very deep bay, which is good for sailors who want to spend peacefully and safety night at the sea. It is so magnificently to see them at sunset, when they start to sail into the bay. Like proud kings… small and big old sailings masters. We were one of them, one of smaller one. Milna attracted us on first look so we decided to spend there couple of days more than we planed. And we did not regret it.
That night we had great time at tavern “Dolphins”, enjoyed in great food from the sea.
Like shrimps, mussels, lobster and fish, I asked main cook can I see all that “sea beauty” before he put it on the grill …and it is was really something to see… Especially lobster Who’d still been alive?
We were lucky, because at that night was locale fisherman’s night, so it was big party under the open sky with all local people, who were very friendly to us.
I can say there is not many people who have heard about Milna on Island Brac, maybe sailors know more about her, because Milna is the most sheltered harbour on the Brac with a big marina for over 150 boats. There are many nice sands beach exposed to the sun; crystal clean sea with ideally conditions for diving, atmosphere is welcoming and Mediterranean. From monuments I am fascinated with baroque church, Our Lady of the Annunciation built 1788
After Milna we continued our journey to another Dalmatian Islands, Hvar.
But, the story from there, we will have to wait until my next time…
