Beaches Korcula Island

The island of Korcula is located in the south of Dalmatia and is known as the island of Marco Polo. Korcula is separated from the Peljesac peninsula by a narrow channel and by ferries they are connected between Domince-Orebic.

The ferry ride takes only 15 minutes and the ferries sail frequently, especially during the season. The island of Korcula is a beautiful island with its lush vegetation, beautiful beaches and historic sites, so it really has a lot to offer to its tourists. Along the shore of the island you will find places Korcula, Lumbarda, Vela Luka, while in the interior you will find Zrnovo, Pupnat, Cara, Smokvica and Blato.

Przina Beach

Vela Przina is located on the south side of the island in Lumbarda. Korcula and Lumbarda are connected by frequent bus lines and the ride takes only 15 minutes. Przina Beach is well protected from the north winds, but when the south wind blows there is a risk of very high waves. It is suitable for families with small children and the elderly. On the beach you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, and there is also a ground for beach volleyball. Right next to the beach there is a parking (pay). At the beach there is one cafe that serves fast food.

Badija Island beaches

Badija Island is a popular destination for day trips from Korcula. The isle of Badija belongs to the archipelago of Korcula and is the largest among the 20 islands. A taxi boat sails towards Badij from Korcula’s waterfront; a return ticket is 20 kuna and the ride takes 15 minutes. Badija island was in the last century inhabited by the Franciscans who restored the old monastery. There are also various restaurants that are open during the summer months, and the attraction are deer that without any fear approach the visitors looking for a delicious meal.

The beach is rocky and partly obscured by dense vegetation that provides shade. Access to the sea is moderate and sprinkled with white stones. On Badija there is also a beach for nudists.

Korcula city beach

City beach in Korcula is only 200 meters from the old town towards the Hotel Park. The beach is pebbly and there are several bars and restaurants. Given that this is a public beach, and that it is in the vicinity of several hotels (Marco Polo Park, Liburnia) you should expect large crowds, especially if you plan to arrive in the season. The facilities on the beach are: a mobile toilet, a small restaurant and lounge chairs.

Pupnatska luka

Pupnatska luka is certainly one of the most beautiful bays on the island. It is located on the south side of the island and is only 5 kilometers from the town of Punat. The bay is reached by a not paved but a passable road. Near the beach is partially landscaped area that is used as a parking lot. The beach is pebbly with a nice entrance to the sea and it is suitable for families with small children.

Vranac city beach – Vela Luka

The city beach Vranac was built back in 1924 and in 2012 it has been completely renovated and decorated. By the renewal of the beach, the tourist offer in Vela Luka is raised to a higher level. The beach is pebbly and you can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs. The beach has a cafe and a restaurant.

Proizd Island beach

The isle Proizd is located at the entrance of Vela Luka and certainly a place to go if you’re nearby. Due to the exceptional quality of the sea, Proizd was named “The best beach on the Croatian Adriatic” in 2007. The isle Proizd is about a half-hour boat ride, but by a speedboat you can get there in a few minutes. The island has a small dock and a restaurant with a wide selection of Dalmatian cuisine. Proizd is surrounded by crystal clear waters and sandy beaches in rocky coves, so if you want to get away from large crowds and enjoy the beautiful crystal blue sea, then a trip to Proizd is the best choice.
